The Prevention Hub- Experts & Survivors

Tiana Sharifi

You may recognize the facilitator featured throughout the videos—Tiana Sharifi, who led the creative and educational direction of the series, developing the concepts behind each animated video, writing all scripts, guiding tone and delivery, and creating the accompanying educator facilitator guides.

The peer safety videos are informed by the real questions students consistently raised during her presentations, with responses carefully crafted to address the underlying psychology and vulnerabilities behind them.

The animated scenario videos draw from real disclosures and experiences shared through her work, alongside thoughtfully developed concepts designed to engage and resonate with young people.

Alexandra Ford , Sara Dillon, Jessica Rogers, and Carol Todd are experts and survivors whose contributions significantly shaped the trauma-informed approach of the materials.

Each was consulted on video concepts, topics, and age group alignment, and provided review and approval on draft scripts.

Notable contributions include Jessica’s reframing of the term “self-exploitation” to “high-risk behaviours,” Sara’s BEAR acronym for the Grade 8–12 Consent and Healthy Boundaries video, Alexandra’s analogy of people wearing costumes for the Grade 3–5 Internet video, and Carol’s expertise as a school district digital literacy educator and founder of the Amanda Todd Legacy.

We are grateful for the insight, lived experience, and expertise each of these consultants brought to the development of these materials.

The Prevention Hub is grounded in the Center for Exploitation Education’s established school-based prevention programs and online curriculum.
